Basically, you modify the pattern so that there are backward-forward knots on the left edge and forward-backward knots on the right edge. This is called straight edges technique.

Just like everyone else, I found Masha's video on the straight edges technique extremely helpful, and it improved my bracelets that I've used it on a lot

For a normal pattern you add one extra string on each side. At the parts where in the original pattern the string sticks out to the side on the left side you do a bf knot on the extra string and on the right side a fb knot.For an alpha pattern you don't need to add extra strings. You just do bf knots with your leading string on the string on the left edge and fb knots on the string on the right edge. |

@halokiwi sometimes you don't need to add extra strings, you can just modify the knots at the end of the bracelet if they are made between the same color string.

@aylad masha knots at this time is not accepting friend requests or responding to messages. i think it has to do something with her computer lagging too much when she tries to accept friend requests or respond to messages. and a moderator is someone who has been handpicked by the admin and who had been really active in the bracelet making community. the moderators’ job is to accept/decline patterns and basically “moderate” the community here on bracelet book
