When i make a bracelet with just the loop (forward backward knots around the string) how can i make tying the bracelet straight? with no triangle ends or teardrops?

You would just start by doing all the knots in the first row of the pattern without doing anything special.

my problem is they end up being kind of bunched up instead of perfectly flat

You can fold your loop and tape it down, then do your first row against the straight edge of the tape.

I think it's normal that your bracelet bunches up a bit if you try to start with a straight edge after a loop. Due to the loop the strings are all really close to each other and they can't space out as much as usual once you do the first row. I would only recommend it if the bracelet is relatively small because then it's not much of an issue.

If you want the bracelet to have a 'straight edge' after the loop, the best way to do it (in my opinion) is after the loop, get the two center strings and make a knot with with them. Then you can proceed to the pattern as normal. This should avoid the bunching up as you mentioned. 🙂
