can somebody please explain what a 1-2-1-2 pattern is? i have no idea what it is and people always talk about it here.

1212 patterns are normal patterns that consists only of fb or bf knots. as a result it can’t be segment knotted, it has to be knotted row by row.

Beyond friendship bracelets on YouTube has videos where she uses the 1212 patterns . I personally like seeing the pattern now that there’s different ways of reading them.

They are normal patterns that are only fb, or bf knots, so they are very difficult to segment knot and take a lot of time

Alphas are ones with horizontal rows presented in grids and 1-2 patterns are ones with forward, backward knots and sometimes fb and bf. A 1212 pattern is one that is made up of ONLY fb and bf knots, however some people, Including me, say 1212 patterns are ones that are MOSTLY fb and bf

1-2 1-2 patterns are patterns that consist entirely of forward-backward and backward-toward knots. 🙂

If you click/tap on the top of one of the strings, the website will highlight the string so you can see its path.See how with #37400 all of the strings sort of zigzag all the way down? This is a 1-2-1-2 pattern. A pattern that is not a 1212 pattern, for example, such as #36918 notice if you click on any one of the strings (besides the 1st and last) the strings don't zigzag all the way down, but rather follow other pathways. This is not considered a 1212 pattern, because it uses f and b knots. I make a lot of 1212 patterns because it allows me to make stripes of color going horizontally across a pattern such as this #36979 However, you cannot segment knot with 1212 patterns. |
