I know there aren’t any kumihimo patterns on here but I’m not sure where else I can ask sorry 😬 how does everyone start and end their kumihimos other than just tying them in a knot? I find the thin ones are ok with the knots but once you’ve got more than like 8 strings, the knot ends up big and bulky and difficult to tie. I was just wondering if anyone had any other techniques that look a bit nicer?
Thank you 🥰

You can use closures that have a hollowed our end on them and use glue to secure it. I usually just tie knots at the end but make it long enough that the kumihimo can be the bracelet and the tie.

I do 16 strand Kumihimo bracelets and I start them with a loop, so the string is doubled then use another thread to start the loop. I use embroidery thread so I don't actually find the knots to be bulky, but it is a lot more bulky than the actual bracelet. I can see if you were to make bracelets with more strands then it would be a problem.
