Hi, I really like to make friendship bracelets. I make mine with DK yarn and I was wondering if us bracelet makers could make a list of other stuff that you could knot with. Be creative!

I use cotton string (the string people also use to chrochet). These are 125 metres long for just €2,45 here! Super cheap, but I think the results are the same as with other string 🙂. The only thing there is, is that you have to see whether its really 100% cotton, otherwise they will break.

It's not knotting, but I love to make the patterns on here using seed beads!

I use so many kinds, but depending on what I'm going to make, is what I use. For normal patterns, I use "crystal" thread, acrilan, DMC, etc. For alphas, the best ones are DMC ;D

You can make really simple ones from just about anything that is strong enough and will stay knotted. Ive made 2 string chain bracelets from shoelaces, twine, cord, and even two pieces of fabric! Basically whatever was within my reach in my art class when I was bored. 😛

I prefer craft thread rather than embroidery floss because it stays together unlike the embroidery floss, and I get it from Michael's. (usually a multi pack with like 36 skeins for $5)
