Hi guys!I am interested in which material you use for your friendship bracelets. Do you use pure cotton embroidery floss like DMC Moulinรฉ or do you use some polyester string you buy online for less money? I started with some strings from Amazon (100 skeins for about 10 Euros) and bought some embroidery floss from Airo, which also is polyester, but the colours match perfectly the original DMC. Of course, the quality is not that from pure cotton, but it's nice to work with and get into knotting. Now I bought some specific colours I chose for some specific bracelets that I want to make of pure cotton just because the quality is better. And I use tie dyed multicoloured thread (only works with pure cotton). I have not used crochet yarn or any other stuff than embroidery floss, but there may be some yarn or wool that matches the thickness of embroidery floss (like Masha Knots' Alize Simli). I use waxed thread/string, But I would like to try the embroidery thread, but I can't get it where I live. Something i hate about the material is, depending on the color idk why, you always have wax in your fingers and its kinda annoying cuz you cant touch your hair or face, but anyways |

i use an embroder string for a site were i live but i have no idea materials and all that anyways if you use a lighter it burns the perfect way to finish it so thats cool!!

@harunko are you for argentina? i ask this because all the people for argentina use waxed thread (i used to use before) and it's dificult to find in good price the embroder thread...

I once tried to wax my embroidery floss, but I didn't get much sense out of that - not better to use, also not worse, but more work to do when preparing the strings.When it burns the finish of your bracelet, it should be polyester. Pure cotton would not burn to finish nicely. |

yeah! i think that it was something like that! but i don't mean to wax the embroidery floss (i never tried it) but i used to use a string called waxed thread/cord
