Hi, I've been working on my first alpha using the clean back method and uploaded the photo to the pattern to hopefully receive some tips. The background string is showing through the back. Does anyone have specific advice for me?

You're using waxed thread, right? This doesn't look very good with this string. I recommend simply using the "upside-down alpha technique." It'll look incomprehensible on one side, but on the other, it'll look like my photos of patterns #114574, #146641, #148362, #103625, and all my earlier alpha pattern photos, which you can see on my profile! โค๏ธ

Ohhh, I did think that it could be the type of thread that I'm using. It's good to have confirmation, thank you!

oh! i just see your reply! ๐Ÿ˜„ don't forget to tag people like this so they get the notification @pulserasAG
yeah! the type of string It has a lot of influence, and I think it's because the waxed thread doesn't tighten very tightly and the knot ends up more rectangular than square, so that's why the design stretches, but that doesn't matter if you don't mind!
But because of the way the thread is, (I suppose) hiding a thread in a knot doesn't make the knot as tight and the color shows through, so the pattern isn't visible...
So it's best to use the upside-down alpha technique because with this technique the pattern looks good (a little stretched) but very good
because:
if you do the clean-back alpha technique, the pattern won't show up very well

if you do the normal alpha technique, it'll end up bumpy. I'm not sure how it will turn out with the flat alpha technique ๐Ÿค”
but the upside-down alpha technique is super pretty and the color changes are super easy!!

or you use embroidery thread, although in my country it's more expensive (I use it because I like the result better), but with waxed thread it's still beautiful! ๐Ÿ˜

I hope I've helped! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
