I have a problem with string burn/rope burn on my index finger and middle finger. They are actually kinda bad. I know I could alter the way I tie the knots but that is taking a little bit of time to relearn.

I bought silicone fingertips thinking that that would help but it just actually grabs the string and won let Go. Band-Aids instantly fuzz and snag. Is there anybody who experienced this and found a fix for it.....aside from taking a break.

@alltiedup Does this happen when you are knotting a lot?

Are you pulling very tight while knotting? Don't pull super tight. Consistent tension is key. You can also achieve that by not pulling super tight.

Make sure to take good care of your hands. Moisturise your skin. If your skin is already dry, it is more likely to break when tying.

I would put in the effort to learn a new finger position for tying your knots. I know it’s tedious and will take time, but worth it if you end up without pain. It just happens that the way I tie knots hasn’t ever caused me any pain or irritation, no matter how long I’m knotting. Dm me if you want me to show you my technique.

I’ve had the same problem, I found that knotting slower and a little bit looser helped minimize damage, I don’t really know of any other way.
