hello!i’m pretty sure this is a common problem but i can’t locate a solution. when i make bracelets (alpha or normal but especially bigger alpha patterns like wall hangings or bookmarks) i find them curling/lifting at the edges as in they don’t lie flat on a table. i tape and retape my bracelets frequently. is there any way to fix this? i’m making a bookmark for my friend’s birthday at the end of february and he’s pretty nitpicky/a perfectionist so i want it to be nice and flat for him. i’ve been thinking of using a flatiron with low heat but i dont want it to unravel the design lol. any suggestions? thank you! |

to clarify i already do the flat alpha and straight edge techniques! and by curling/lifting at the edges i mean at the top and at the bottom (mainly the bottom)

Don't tie too tightly. After you are done, put the bracelet under a heavy book to flatten it a bit.

@halokiwi for wall hangings what do i do about the wooden dowel? should i just place the wooden dowel above the book? also should i lay the wall hanging vertically (ie with the dowel horizontal, the way it is on the wall) or horizontally (ie with the dowel vertical)?

Dowel above bookI don't think vertical or horizontal should make a difference, because you're lying it flat. |
