Has anyone here tried the glitter DMC threads? Are they easy to work with?

I bought a 10 pack of brandless glitter thread at the local warehouse store, and damn are they hell to work with!

So, I'd love to hear your opinions 🙂

I find that tying a small knot at the end of the strand helps to make it workable and keep everything together. Also, I find that some tend to be thicker than regular floss so I just take a few individual strands out to make it thinner. 🙂

I have tried making a bracelet entirely out of the sparkly DMC thread, you can see the result on my photo to this pattern #34072 (unfinished though)

They are noticeably harder to work with, but not as difficult as with the metallic thread, for example. You should definitely tie a knot at the end of every string to help keep it neater.
I can't recommend making a bracelet ENTIRELY with this thread because the stands split very easily and it quickly turns into a mess. The whole bracelet making process takes up more time because of having to often sort out which stands belong to which string and trying to keep them together.

But I'm also not sure whether it's worth using the sparkly DMC thread just for an accent as they are not sparkly enough for these purposes and the glittering will be very subtle.

I think it would look the best as a darker color for the background. Or you could try and make a bracelet completely with the sparkly thread, maybe the result will be worth it for you.
