My question is about patterns that have many strings but only have a few that are knotted on at a time, what happens to those extra strings? For instance in the Christmas tree pattern 160596 it looks like you don’t use the strings on the side, but peoples photos of the finished work look different than I would’ve thought. Help me learn to read those types of patterns? |

Pattern #160596 is a shaped alpha pattern Looking at your photos, you are familiar with triangle ends. Shaped patterns work the same. You tie the knots at the edge around multiple strings at once to hide the loose strings. You could for example watch this video to learn https://youtu.be/s4uVdJ5It3U?si=WY9-1qKCZrf_OSg6 |

So when the pattern looks like they’re not used at all you use all the strings in one bundle? Thanks that makes sense and helps a ton!
