Should I put them in the washing machine or handwash them?

I think handwashing them should be enough.

I've found that using shampoo to wash it works well, I also condition them to make them smooth 😊

Does the colour bleed from the bracelets at all?

@superme123 if you use reliable brands like DMC or Anchor, it definitely won't. If you use off-brands from online stores, I'd suggest washing your bracelets in cold or lukewarm water (<30°C) to minimize the risk of color running out.

I put them to dry in the sun if i can so they don’t stink after giving them a quick wash with a little bit of soap 🧼

It depends on the type of string you use.
If you use lower quality threads, balls can form. This happened to me 😭

@Amara13_ What do you mean by balls? Most of my bracelets, especially my alphas, are made out of low-quality thread.

Like when clothes are old, some type of fabrics make balls.
Some threads too, I dk if yours does

I recommend NOT rubbing the bracelet with any kind of brush or even sponge. Just get a bowl a of warm soapy water and submerge the bracelet and agitate it back and forth with your hand. It's really easy to mash down the threads if you scrub a bracelet.

I gave my frind a braclelet and she wore it for a while, but she told me that it now smells. Any ideas for that?

my bracelets smell all the time I usually use shampoo and conditioner and then put a clear essential oil on them to disguise the leftover scent

@01289 do you wear all your bracelets or do they smell from just sitting around?

If you wear them full time, dishsoap works great. It helps dissolve the natural grease produced by skin. I usually gently scrub the backside of my bracelet (the side touching my skin) with a soft toothbrush.
