Maybe you pull the string in a way that it has lots of friction against other strings and it gets thin because of that. Try to not pull the knot tight over a long distance but make the knot as close to the top as possible. Idk if that makes sense.

I've never used Prism, but I have heard a lot of people say that it is bad quality, and breaks on them very easily when it comes to making challenging patterns. Not really sure what you could do other than knotting slacker so the string doesn't snap, maybe so the knots are just hugging eachother? Or you could try moving to a different brand if that is accessable to you. |

I use mostly DMC but I have some Prism too and when I use it it doesn’t really snap for me and I pull my knots pretty tight because I hate holes so like @halokiwi said try not to start super far down the string you are knotting on because it probably rubs the fiber apart and then becomes thin and easy to snap. If that doesn’t work then probably try another brand. Different brands work totally different with everyone’s

This used to happen to me a lot with different string/thread brands!! One thing I found helpful was to stay away from cotton based strings as they were rougher and seemed to hold the tension differently than other softer threads (dmc, textures like that). Otherwise, you may just want to play around with how loose or tight your knots are. Hope this helps!
