Knotting a strawberry chain

Iโm currently working on pattern #164304, and Iโm not super experienced with daisy chains. With this pattern in particular, the top knot of the strawberry is above where the blue โchainโ part connects to the strawberry. How do I deal with this? Do I separate the dark pink before ending the chain? Or is there another way to do it?

Similar to the daisy chain actually. In the pattern of the dairy chain, it also looks like the chain isn't above the tip of the flower, but you still do the chain first and the start with the tip. The pattern just looks a little different from the final result.
