I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a loop at the start of my bracelets (usually teardrop style) and no matter how closely I follow various tutorials, I can’t get them to come out right. Also, how would I fasten such bracelets? (The ones that look like this with the looped top and two braids: c=====<)

Not sure what the issue is with your loops, but you might want to experiment with the amount of knots you do per loop.Bracelets with a loop and two ties are fastened by pulling one tie through the loop and then tying a knot between both ties. |

The loop is never the right size for the bracelet, and the first rows of knots are loose, or bunched, etc. Thank you for clearing up the fastening issue! 😊

Then you need to indeed do more or less knots in the loop. After the loop, you need to do some kind of shaped start. Do you know how to do that? To not struggle with starting to knot after the loop, secure the loop down, so that both ends are very close together before starting the shaped start. |

Okay! I know how to do a teardrop shaped start. I’ll try securing the loop next time! Thanks so much!

But how would you secure the loop down? I feel like It would be very hard to tape down because of the shape and less area to tape down.

Usually I tape it in the middle, through the loop

@SadStraw I pull pieces of scrap string through the loop, then tape/clip the ends of the scrap string to my workspace. Hope this helps! 🩵

@ningc98 wait that’s actually a really good idea and a great use for scrap string! 😁

@SadStraw I always use a clip. For me it works better than tape.A clip can also be useful when starting the bracelet after the loop, because you can clip the loop down in a way so that the ends are really close together, so you aren't struggling as much. |

@SadStraw if the clip is strong enough and you clip it to a book or something similar, it won't move around.

@SadStraw you can also use a clipboard; they’re great bracelet-making tools!
