straight edges on alphas problems

So, I use straight edges technique when making alpha, as well as flat alpha technique. I realised that whatever I do, however much I pay attention and try to be neat and go slowly, the right edge of my alphas is always a bit wobbly, while the left edge is almost entirely straight. You can probably see what I mean best on my pictures of #71278 or #154999, and maybe even #57862 where the left edge is straight and the left kind of buldges out. If both edges were like that I'd chalk it up to my knot tension or something similar, but it's always only the right edge and I can't figure out why.Does anyone have a similar problem? And does anyone know how I might stop this from happening? I keep thinking about what I might be doing wrong, but I really can't think of anything. I know it's not a huge issue but it's bugging me and I'd really like to try and fix it. |

Does it feel like the right edge is requested to the left? If yes, you can try twisting it to the right a little after you tied it. It's possible to manipulate the knots slightly like that. But to figure out where the issue is, pay attention at which angle you pull the strings when tying. So you pull them the same (mirrored of course) on both sides or different? |

@halokiwi oh that may be the case, I'm just in the middle of making a keychain so I'll definitely pay attention to how I'm pulling them. I'm not sure exactly what it means that an edge is requested hahah but I did notice that my fb and bf knots don't really look the same when they're on their respective edges, the fb knots on the right look more stretched out, if that makes sense? But thanks for the tip, I'll look out for which way I'm pulling the knots!

Oops "twisted" not "requested"The way I use my phone keyboard sometimes creates weird words that I sometimes don't notice. |
