Hi Everyone! I’m making this bracelet for my niece, Lilah. So I’m using patterns #116855 (L) 116852 (I), 116844 (A) and 116851(H). I was very confident until I realized my strings are in the wrong place to start over with the L pattern to make my next L as another multicolored letter on solid background. Is it fixable? How do I proceed? Raising my hand for the teacher. Thanks for your help!

I’m new to this forum. How can I post a picture?

You can't post a picture, but you can change your pfp to show people. Anyways, are you segment knotting or going row by row? Those patterns are designed to go by stripes rather than rows. Make sure all your knots are tied in the right place as well (basic advice but still relevant!) There are also techniques to turn the letter patterns to have an all black background or all multicolored, but I prefer switching each time. That may be what you did.

Thanks, kpn. I will change my profile pic to this bracelet. I’m segment knotting. So far, I’ve done an L and and I and am stuck on switching back to the L pattern. Going to change my pic rn

Ok, bracelet is my profile picture. The L and I turned out great and I’m pretty sure I did them correctly, but now it looks like my colorful strings are going to make the next L too low.

But also, the more I look at it, I’m wondering if it’s actually fine and I’m just very confused…

So, according to the L pattern, the silver triangle on the top R of the next diagonal (silver) patch should have rows (diagonal L-R) of 1, 3, 5 and 7 knots, before the first knots of the L. But the way my strings are, it looks like I’d have two extra silver rows above the L.

For the second L, you need to do exactly the same thing you did as you did for the first L.The colourful strings are not too low. They're in exactly the right place. Just continue and you will see that it will work out. The more you tie of the L, the more the colourful strings will move up. |

With the silver string all the way on the right, you need to tie 6 b knots, then you tie the colourful strings onto it using f knots, then you do one more b knot. With the next silver string all the way on the right, you need to tie 5 b knots, then you tie the colourful strings onto it using f knots, then you do two more b knots. After that it should hopefully be more clear how the pattern continues. I can assure you, that all the strings are in the correct place. You just need to continue to tie. Don't be afraid. |

Hey!! I did it! Thanks so much for the help. I’m still new to patterns and don’t have the “sight” for it yet, so your explicit instructions about which way to tie the silvers were really crucial. The pattern started with that corner in F knots, so thinking about where to go from that point really had me stuck. And, as you know, trial and error is a total PITA with this craft, so I really appreciate the direction. Photo in my profile, in case you want to see how it turned out. Niece will love it ❤️
