How/where do I see how long my threads have to be for a bracelet?

Where can I see that or how can I "calculate" it because I always end up with threads that are too long. And it varies from pattern to pattern how long these threads have to be.Thx for help ❤️ |

You have to calculate it yourself.I made a formula for myself which is: 45 + percentage of knots made in the colour of a string = length in cm for that specific string The more knots a string makes of its own colour, the longer it needs to be. The more knots are made onto a string, the shorter it needs to be. Let's say you have a pattern with 8 rows. String A makes knots of it's own colour in all 8 rows, which would be 100 percent. The length of that string would need to be about 145cm. String B makes knots of it's own colour in only 50 percent of all rows. It would need to be 95cm long. This formula works for me, but might not work for you. If you give me the number of a pattern you want to do, I can make the calculation with your pattern (if it is not super big or complex) and you can test it out. |

Thank you, that's very kind of you, but I don't know exactly whether that would be considered too complex... but this would be the pattern: #27290

That pattern is perfect, because it only has three different lengths. white: knots in 5 of 36 rows -> 14% -> 59cm darker colour: knots in 22 of 36 rows -> 61% -> 106cm lighter colour: knots in 24 of 36 rows -> 67% -> 112cm (I hope I did not miscount) This is when you make ties of about 10cm length on each side. |

Thank you very much ❤️ I would really like to calculate it myself, but I don't fully understand how you do it. Although I think I understood it because when I tried afterwards to calculate how many I needed I came to the same result 🎉 . But I still don't fully understand why that is the case 🙈 . I would be very happy if you could explain it to me in more detail. Thank you for taking the time for me 😊

For easier counting, click on the beginning of the string you want to count (this might only work on the website, not sure about the app)This will highlight the string, which makes it easier to follow it Follow the path of the string all the way until the end of the pattern On the way you count all the knots that have arrows pointing in the direction of the path That's how you get the amount of knots made with that string |

and then when I have the number of nodes in this thread I have to divide it by the number of whole nodes

or do I have to divide the number of nodes by the number of lines?

You have to do number of knots divided by number of rows
