Hello,

I would like to make this pattern with 5 colors instead of 7 (plus black) #15454.
Am I right when I take the same amount of black strings, but only 5 instead of 7 color strings? An then just easily follow the pattern as in this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7QdlTvRE4s&t=533s

Thanks.

I saw this variation: https://www.braceletbook.com/variations/normal/262413/
But I don't want to do it like this, i don't want extra black strings - I don't want a black row.

Yes, you can just adjust the pattern slightly to fit your amount of strings 🙂

You want to work with 5 colour strings and 9 background strings, right?

#143608 has less strings, it uses 5 colour strings and 5 black strings.

If you use 5 colour strings and 9 black strings, the proportions of black and colour will be different than in the original pattern. The black part will be wider then the colour part. If that is your intention, I'd say go for it, but if your intention is that it looks more like the original pattern in regards to proportion, I recommend #143608.

Oh wait, I misunderstood, you want 5 and 5, pattern #143608 should be what you are looking for.

Ah, thanks! I was not sure if I also have to use less black strings. So #143608 is what I was looking for. Thank you!

How did you know/find the right pattern right away?

I filtered for 10 strings, 6 colours and the keyword "plaid".
