Hi! I’m having trouble getting my knots in alphas to be less slanted and look more even. I use a ruler to push them up but that doesn’t work. I try even tension and consistency, but I haven’t found any help with it. For example, look at the pictures for pattern #23234. I want to get my alphas to look like jorge1889’s picture: even and square like. However when i try to, mine come out looking like jennyk’s picture, slanted. For another example of this, look at the 3 different pictures for pattern #53161. Anyone have any tips for solving this? thanks!

One thing I do to stop alphas from slanting is pushing my rows. After one or two rows try using a ruler, flat edge, or debit card, etc to push all your knots flat.

I always use the upside-down alpha method (like I did for #146424 if you want to see what it looks like) it takes a bit of getting used to but I think you get much better results then when you do it the normal way. https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/153_advanced-knots-tutorial/ if you scroll to the end of that it shows you how to do an upside-down knot

@cmmbp when I try to do to make my alphas more square or a rectangle or whatever shape they're supposed to be is using The straight edge technique is very simple all you have to do for the right edge is use forward backward knots and for the left edge you use backward forward knots instead of forward or backward knots.😀😀 Happy to help

@beymaster I think they were talking about the knots. But I do really think the flat alpha does help

try to tie all of the knots equally. If rows are tighter that others, it can make your alpha slanted of thinner in some places! 👍

I havent tried it personally, but maybe try doubling ur base strings. I've heard that technique being used to make better alphas, and perhaps it might fix ur issue🤷‍♀️
