Alpha Bracelet string thickness question

I went to the store and bought some DMC thread and DMC thread ball. I didn't realize that the thread from the ball was thinner as both threads say size 8 on them. I was wondering if I use the thin thread ball as a background string for Alphas would if affect the bracelet negatively? Any suggestions?

I recommend to only use string of the same thickness for the leading strings. If you use string of different thickness, the knots will have different sizes and the design will come out uneven.You can use a different thickness for the base strings than you use for the leading strings. It will only affect the proportions of the knots. Thinner base strings will make the knots less wide and thicker base strings will make the knots wider. |
