main string in alpha bracelet is too short

Hello! I have accidentally made the main string in my alpha bracelet too short, and now I can't continue it. Is there some way I can tie in another string to continue it? I tried tying the end of it to more string but it just had a big annoying knot. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just use whatever technique you use when you add in a new colour but use the same colour as your main string.
