Changing color on the edge of alpha bracelets

Hi! My problem is that I don’t know how to keep my edges looking perfect when I have to change colors on them. The color I want to change is still seen on the edge when I pass it behind the threads to continue with the new color. Please, help 😩

I usually leave them out, then after I’ve finished the bracelet cut them shorter, flip them to the back then put a tiny dot of hot glue over and push it into the thread- I can change my pfp to show it if you want
