Clean back alpha: cutting off strings

Hi! I've just almost finished doing my first clean back alpha, following the instructions in Masha Knots' youtube tutorial.
It's been working pretty well, except for where the strings go in and out of the back and have to be cut off.
I have an alpha with 9 different colours (and I've used 2 strings for the same colour since there were two clusters of that colour on far-away spaces in the piece).
So now I have 9 strings going in and 9 strings coming out of the back. No matter how close I cut them, there's always a wrong coloured blob on the back. And since it's 18 blobs in total, it's annoying me a bit.

Is there a trick to cutting them shorter? I've already used nail clippers and I've tried bending the bracelet so the thread sticks out more, but to little avail.
I am aware that I could technically feed in ALL necessary threads from the beginning and carry them to the end, but that would result in gigantic knots, I think. (And it would possibly break my brain.)

I don’t know if it would work but I melt the ends and sort of flatten it so they don’t unravel? I don’t completely know what I’m doing tho so please don’t quote me

@Kai_Spider What kind of string do you use? I thought melting the ends was only a thing with plastic strings. And I don't wanna try it out on a flattened alpha where there is less than a millimeter between the bracelet and the stringend haha

@IndyHaine I just use embroidery floss, it seems to work pretty well, they’ve never come undone at least! Yeah I can see what you mean tho, honestly I don’t know anything else to recommend but I hope you find something soon!

@Kai_Spider oh that's interesting! I never new singing off the ends was a thing with embroidery floss. I gotta check the composition of mine and then try it (whenever my roommate isn't there because she gets nervous even when I only handle candles lol)

Yeah I didn’t realise at first, I just got tired of them unraveling and I used to do it to loose threads on tops and jeans so I figured I’d try lol, it’s also useful if I’ve cut the string too short, I just the them and singe them as close as I can! I hope it works with yours too! (Honestly my brother is the same lol)
