Can you *finish* a bracelet with a loop?

I know you can start a bracelet with a loop, but can you finish with one? By connecting strings with glue or nail polish, maybe? Has anyone tried it?

I never tried that but I think it would look a bit messy. It's better to make a loop at the beginning.

I've never tried it, nor have I seen it be done. There's no harm in trying to and seeing how it looks though! I love messing around with different starts and endings to come up with more of a variety for myself. Some work, others not so much and others not at all😂! But it makes the process more fun to me when I experiment. 🙂

I mean technically but it won’t look the same as a starting loop. I would do a couple macrame square knots and then split your strings into to groups and either fb knots or continue with the square knots on each half. When you’re at the length you want bring them back together with a few square knots and tie off. Like you would for a buckle closure but don’t do the full tail.

Another option for symmetrical patterns with an even amount of string would be to shortly before you finish it leave out the middle knot in rows with an uneven amount of knots and after some rows start doing that knot again until you finish the bracelet. This way you have a hole that you could pull a string through to tie your bracelet.

I’ve finished a bracelet with a loop before. It doesn’t look as nice as when you start with it but it is possible. I just split the strings in half and did forward/backward knots on both groups until I got the length I wanted and then I pulled both groups together and did four or five knots onto all of the strings and then secure it by either glue or nail polish or you could tie a knot with your knotting string and just one of the other strings in the group. Hopefully this makes sense!!
