So when I cut my strings to include in an Alpha bracelet/keychain that switches colors on the edge, when I’m done and cut off the inch of thread the was between the tape and the Alpha, there’s a little tiny nub of thread that sticks out on the side and I can’t seem to cut it close enough without cutting the bracelet. Tips?

You could use the straight edges technique. This way the end of the string would stick to the inside and not the outside.

@holokiwi I use the straight edge technique. It still sticks out for some reason 🤔

Is it the end of the string of a knot you made right at the edge or one that you made one knot away from the edge?When using tape, tape the string down from where it is supposed to be coming from. So when you need to do an fb knot on the right edge, tape the string down on the left. |

@halokiwi it's the one where you make the first knot on the edge. When I cut it when I'm done, I have a little nub of thread sticking out that I can't cut 😕

Is the nub the end of the string or is it the string between the f half and the b half of the knot?

@halokiwi it's at the first knot you make with that string

If that knot is a bf knot on the left edge, did you tape the string down on the left or the right of your bracelet?

@halokiwi Left

You need to tape the string down on the right. In a bf knot, the string comes from the left and goes to the left.

That was wrong. The string comes from the right and goes to the right. That is the reason why you need to tape it down on the right, not on the left to avoid the string from sticking out.

I'm not sure if this is what you're saying but Masha Knots has a helpful video on color switches on the edge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6eRTOWtHlU&pp=ygUgbWFzaGEga25vdHMgY29sb3Igc3dpdGNoIG9uIGVkZ2U%3D

@fishyknots ok thanks so much! I had trouble keeping the edges straight even when I was doing the straight-edge technique but that video helped! Thanks! (:
