Straight edge tech on pattern 16603

I'm new to the straight-edge technique, and I tried to apply it to pattern 16603. I added the two strings at the edge but I'm not entirely sure how to continue the pattern since the colors don't line up the same.

You just continue in row 1 again but ignore the colours. The knots are still the same, just the colours are different.Using the straight edges technique does not seem to be the cause of your problem. |
