How much string should I cut for a 36 inch bracelet? (making a lanyard)

I’m making a lanyard, so I’m planning on making it at least 36 inches. The pattern I’m using is 8 strings. How long should I cut each string?

Which pattern are you making? Not all strings might be used equally.If all strings were used equally, I'm estimating 163 inches per string plus some extra for ties etc. This calculation would work for me, but it might not work for you, because you might have a different knotting tension or use different materials than me. I might have also made a mistake, trying to convert inches to cm and back again. |

@halokiwi I’m making the lanyard with pattern #74590. I ended up cutting the strings to be 9 feet each which so about 274 cm, so I’m hoping it’ll be enough! Honesty tho as long as it’s long enough to wear around my neck I’ll be fine with the length lol. Thanks for the help though!
