Alpha knot size

Is it normal for alpha knots to be skinny? My knots look pretty normal but I feel like they aren’t fat enough for my patterns to look exactly like the pattern. Is there a way to make your knots fatter or is this normal?

I just asked a really similar question! The reply I got said that you could double the base strings to make the individual knots wider, or use a thicker brand for the base strings, and to also knot each row looser and push the knots up after each row with a ruler.
