Hello! I started this lovely hobby with a hand me down box of strings from my mother-in-law. It was the brands she didn't like to use in her embroidery machine, so it's a mish-mash, most of them already on bobbins and unlabeled so I have no way of knowing what's what. I've had the issue in alphas where certain parts of the bracelet will curve inwards slightly or bow outwards. I am using the straight edge and flat alpha techniques already, but was wondering if anyone had any other tricks for this situation other than getting strings of the same brand. I am not in a position to do that right now and it will be a few months before I am. I'd rather TRY to use the string I have in the meantime.

Probably not very useful advice, but try to figure out, which embroidery floss works well together and only use that together.Alternatively you could alternatively you could also use it for normals. I think the effect of using differently sized thread is smaller in normals. In alphas it's generally not recommended to do so for the reasons you experienced. |

That's what I'm trying to do. The warping isn't TOO bad so far so it's worth the practice at least. I didn't think there was all that much I could actually do, but you never know until you ask right? 🙂 Thank you!

You could try tying tighter knots with thicker tread and looser knots with thinner thread

@lynx123 True! I've finally made enough bracelets at this point to actually see the thickness, which was difficult for me starting out. I've only been at this a month or so. Thank you for the idea!
