So whenever im doing alpha patterns, thin ones especially, the rows start to curve downwards, and i try using a ruler to straighten it out, but it doesnt work. I'm doing a thin pattern right not (10 base strings) and the rows are just bending. I've gotten it somewhat under control, but they're still curved. How do I fix this? I've been using embroidery thread for all the strings.

If you are doing the straight edges technique, make sure you are doing enough bf or fb knots. You need one to start the row and one to end the row. That means right after you ended a row, you need to make one again to start the next row.

With alphas small differences in string thickness can already make a big difference. I recommend using the same brand of string for your strings.

Make sure your knots are loose enough so that they can easily be manipulated, if you are tying them too tight they may not move.
