ok so i have made some alphas before and really enjoyed it but when there is a color change one knot before the last knot, mine ends up looking bumpy, uneven and theres always a lump on the back so what do i do??

Since you can't do the flat alpha technique for the colour changes directly at the edge, you are probably using the regular alpha technique there which is causing the colour switches to be a bit bumpy. For the last knot of the row, if you need to switch colours there, you can also do the flat alpha technique before that instead of afterwards, if that makes sense. You just put the new leading string through the previous knot. |

I'm using the technique where you do the first half of the knot then put the leading string through then do the second half of the knot
