How long do you usually cut your string for a bracelet that’s 5 inches?

For a normal bracelet I cut my strings so they reach from the finger tips of my left hand to my right shoulder. I think that's about 90cm. I cut double the length, if I fold in half. I think lots of people use their wingspan to measure and then fold in half, but for me that's often a little short. For an alpha bracelet, I cut the base strings the lebgth of the bracelet plus some extra for loops and ties. |

Same as the above message, but I usually add a little more then that because my wingspan isn't very long 😂You can also add more string into a bracelet, so if you cut them too short, it is possible to put more in later. |

Also same, I just experimented a lot with length and found that 180cm (which I then fold in half for two strings with a loop) is the sweet spot for me.I never thought about using wingspan for that! I always get out the ruler... Having a body-related length sounds so much more comfortable! |

I usually use my wingspan, which is 68 inches, and then cut that in half. it's a convenient measurement. However, some patterns require much more of one color than another. If there's a big difference there, you should try to take that into account so you don't run out.
