Does anybody else’s bracelet patterns look great on the side you see while tying in but then later when you flip it over the other side looks weird? Im semi- new to making bracelets, will I ever get to a point where they look the same on both sides or does everybody’s just look like that?

In both alphas and normals it is normal that the backside of the bracelet looks different and less refined from the front. Knots just look different from the front and the back, so you'll never get them to look identical.

Your discovery is correct. The knots we make have two different sides, one is seen in the form of diagonal beads, and the other is flat and almost rectangular, it is completely a matter of taste which side you like in normal bracelets.
My personal taste is that I prefer diagonal knots for normal bracelets and rectangular knots for alpha
Pay attention to the photos that I have submitted for these patterns
You can see the difference in these two works
Diagonal side #122703
Almost rectangular side #98364
