I’ve noticed that no matter what I do, any alpha bracelet I makes tends to stretch up a down a bit. I was wondering if using two base strings per knot instead of one would help prevent this. So, for instance, if the patterns width is 14, I’d have 28 base strings.

do you mean stretch as in the bracelet is wobbly or as in the width changes? if it’s wobbly, tighter knots will make the bracelet more firm. width changes are trickier because that kind of comes with solidifying your knot tension and making equally tight knots every time, which usually comes after a lot of practice. hope this helped and happy knotting!
