Every time I make a big Alpha like 50 x 50 knots attaching it to a stick it begins to become narrower a little bit no matter what I do. (in the end I see a difference of 4-5 mm measuring the beginning and the end ). I am always careful with the tension but this keeps happening and I m not sure why . Any suggestion? Thanks🙂 |

hmm that's intresting it could possibly be that some of your strings are larger than the others for example (#115463) if the blue string for the sky is bigger than the green for the ground at first it could seem pretty consistent but then if the blue igoes away and the green is smaller it could cause it to shrink. That's the only reason I could think of sorry if it doesn't help 😢

It could have something to do with the colors/strings. Typically the part of the design that requires the most colors is in the middle, so there are a lot of strings pulling on each other in that section. This can make your alpha become more narrow. What I find that helps is using two separate strings for your background color (one on the left side and one on the right side) instead of pulling one background color string across all of the other strings back and forth. Doing this also helps use up less string and saving it for the actual knotting. Its a little hard to explain using just words, but I hope that makes sense

For example, I used this method on #12383 so I wouldn’t have to keep pulling the background string all the way across the row
