it depends on the alpha and how you’re using it. to be honest, i’m pretty sure it would be nearly impossible to have a good number because it depends on how you drag the string, how tight you make the knots, how many other strings are made and probably more im not thinking of. can you narrow down what bracelet you’re trying to make?

Maybe you could make a test piece where you knot for example 10cm of string until it's used up. Then you count the knots and use that to calculate how many knots would be possible with 8m of string.
