Hello, Knotters!I am able to hold my bracelets AND knot at the same time. That is how I learned how to make bracelets before I realized you could secure it other ways. I usually tape them down now, but still hold them when starting a new bracelet because there is not much to secure. Does anyone else hold their bracelets while knotting? ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ |

that’s really interesting! How are you able to knot and hold the bracelet at the same time? Or do you only use one hand to knot

@oceanknot I hold the bracelet in my left hand and knot with my right. I never knew people knotted with two hands until recently!

i didn’t realize people knotted with two hands either, but I do use a clipboard. I use my left hand to hold the bracelet down so it isn’t moving. i use my middle and ring finger to hold the string I’m knotting onto and my pointer to make the knot

Yes! I didn’t know that one could tie without a clipboard, tape, safety pin, etc. until a girl at summer camp showed me this method! It blew my mind and now I use it more than any other method. It’s so convenient; I don’t have to hunch over to tie and I can pull out my bracelet and work on it wherever and whenever I want! While there’s less back pain involved, it does, however, usually tire my wrists quicker.

To make a forward knot, I hold the bracelet with my left index and middle fingers. Then I hold my base string with my thumb and ring and pinky finger. Then I work the working thread with my right hand.

I use a clipboard OR tie the loop to a pen and hold between my knees (yes it hurt)

I tie my bracelets to a piece of cardboard with slits cut in it to hold each individual piece of string.

I know a friend who use to hold it with one hand and knot with both. However she now has hand problems and can't knot. so I generally tape them down. But she did it a lot and that is probably why the hand problem. but if it works for you cool! it is also impressive that you can do that.
