Hi, I was wondering if anybody has tips for reducing wrist strain when making bracelets. I developed tendinitis recently, and I think bracelet making was a big culprit. I'm also an artist, so i know how to take breaks and stretch, it just hasn't helped much. It's the hand that I hold my base strings with that's causing me the most problems.

i had this problem big time when i got back into bracelets, i found it was 80% due to how tight i was gripping the strings!

Maybe try to reposition how you hold your strings. It will be uncomfortable at first, but it may help! Also, make sure you are securing your bracelet somehow when knotting.

That's absolutely what I'm thinking my problem is, too. It's nice to hear that others have this issue as well. I'll try to adjust how I'm holding my strings as my wrist recovers. Thanks for the input!

What I like to to is that i out a base string in between each of my fingers and hold the rest with my pinkie. That way my wrist stays comfortable and does not move to much

I highly recommend you try anchoring your bracelet with something other than your hand! I use a binder clip, and I know lots of people have success with clipboards or strong tape. It's a lot easier to get consistent knot tension and straighter bracelets, too. I hope your wrist heals soon!
