I would like to make a normal pattern on a d-ring keychain, but I'm not sure how to attach the strings? I know one way is to use the lark head knot, but how do I attach single strings when I want different colors next to each other to start off the pattern? Or is there a better way to start a normal pattern on a d-ring? Some of the patterns I would like to make are #126663 #35571 #41920 #16116 #127889 #133987 #14512 Thanks for any help! 😊 |

Instead of attaching all the strings individually using the larks head knot, do one single larks head knot with all the strings. Then you can move the strings where you need to.

Or, you could make a loop and attach the ring that way. I usually use jump rings to make it easier.

Split your embroidery floss, so it has only 3 strands instead of 6. Then cut string double the length you would need for individual strings. Fold these strings in half and attach them using larks head knots. Use both halves of each string (3 strands each) as a full string (6 strands).I hope this made sense. Feel free to ask, if you have any questions! Another solution would of course be making a loop, but I assume you don't want that since you specifically asked about D-rings. |

@halokiwi, that is absolute genius!! I've never thought about that before! The reason I don't attach normals to a D-ring is because I could never figure out how to make it look sensible, but this definitely solves that problem. Thank you so much!! ❤️
