I use DMC for my string, but I’m looking for a ticket based string to make my alphas look wider and more like the pattern. Any recs?

Size 3 crochet thread should work as it's a bit thicker than normal embroidery floss and you can get loads of it for a decent price. You could also just try doubling you base strings and tying one knot around two threadsAlso i think mean you wanted thicker base strings because of the pattern turning out proportionally longer than it is wide, right? I know alot of people say this but tying looser knots definetely did help me with that issue, and you can try to push up each row up using a ruler/card |

I use red heart classic crochet thread and it comes in a large ball of thread it looks so thin but double it and it would work well I would also double up on the regular thread you use
