how to make alpha knotting go faster?

it takes me sooo long to make even simple patterns when it comes to alphas, usually weeks to make a single 15-20 strings wide bracelet. but I wanna make them more because there's tons of unfinished ones in my bracelet basket that I wanna finish. any tips to speed it up a bit? i can't think of any : (

honestly the more you do them the faster you get especially when it comes down to memorizing the pattern, i used to also take weeks even a month to finish a

an alpha* oops and now it takes like a day to finish one no matter how many strings or color switches

If you're comfortable making bracelets, try holding multiple base strings at the same time. I'm able to spread two or three strings between my fingers at a time, which helps me go faster because I'm not picking up and putting each down individually.

I've made a ton of alpha's and it's all about getting in the rhythm. one thing that really helps me is having heavier bobbins. I have big circular ones from a kumihimo kit, but you can also use normal plastic ones and tape. this will make it easier to hold the string and get a little bit of swing when you tie the knots. you can also spread out the base strings as you go, picking up and sorting thought them is always the biggest time consumer for me. being able to reach down and get the right one with out having to think about it is a huge help. hope this helps! happy crafting! ❤️ |

i agree with @AJsHere 🙂 it's all about getting into a rythm. allow yourself to practice and eventually you'll figure out what techniques work for you! i've gotten to the point where an alpha bracelet takes me an average of 6 straight hours which is pretty cool
