When you knot alphas it looks a lot better with the straight edge technique. The straight edge technique basically starts on the strings outer most and every time you end and start a new row do a forward backward. It really helps I started using it around 4 months ago and there’s a lot of improvement in my alphas ( sorry if you already knew about this)

For alphas, if you notice that your row is slanted at the bottom of your last row, you can use a ruler and push it up so it is even.

For big alphas, you can mark every tenth base string with a paper clip at its end, so you have an easier job counting which column you're on.If you knot on dowels, leave them long and only cut them after you finished the knotting, because when you knot in a new string, you can just tie it to the dowel instead of taping it down. |

i would recommend using a clipboard, as you can then move the bracelet up and you’re knotting and secure it rlly close to where you’re knotting. this makes it easier to keep your knots neat 🙂 you can do this with washi tape as well, keep taping it down as you knot so you’re knitting close to where it’s secured

I recommend using somewhat distinctive colors so you can see you different knots. I also recommend using safety pins or paper clips to untie incorrect knots. 🙂

When I make my bracelets I use a stencil that I made out of cardboard which has individual slots to put the strings in and clip the bracelet on at the top. It helps to keep everything organised, making sure the strings don't move around, and I personally find it better than taping the bracelet to the table. It is also good if u want to make the bracelet on a long car/ plane trip.

i love to make loops and/or triangles to start bracelets. it makes them way neater and tbh i get super frustrated and upset starting bracelets otherwise because i make way more mistakes otherwise. it’s honestly easier and gives bracelets a cleaner look.
