I’ve been having trouble with knowing how tight to do my knots. I used to tie my knots as tight as I could which didn’t give me a very good outcome. Now, I’ve started to tie my knots looser but I’m still not very pleased with the results. Any advice?

How tight you tie your knots really is personal preference. You're not happy with your knots being very tight or very loose, so I recommend going for somewhere in the middle.I think what matters most is consistency. Try to stick with the same knot tension. With some practice it'll look nice. |

tension is mostly practice in my experience, i’d recommend just playing around with it a bit until you find what you like and eventually it will just come naturally. i find for me i do the first half of the knot pretty tight, because that’s the part that decides where the knot will be placed and you want it pretty close to your other knots so there’s no holes. then the second half of the knot is a bit more loose, because that’s the part that makes the knot look good 🙂 masha knots explains this a little bit at the start of her video Common Beginner Mistakes ( https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PoOzRaHoY5U )

@spyderwebs Just wanted to let you know that I tried out the technique that you gave me where you do the first knot tight and the second loose. It worked perfectly! 😄 Thanks so much again. |
