Looking for some tips on the best way to manage leading strings? I’ve seen people do it a number of different ways and so far i have been using bobbins but i’m finding it really difficult. For your leading strings do you use bobbins? or cut the strings and just weave in new ones when they run out? and for people who have experience with alphas which do you think is the best technique? Sorry for all the alpha questions recently, I’m just learning 😂 and there’s so many different ways to do things! |

I prefer to just weave in new ones when it gets too short. I HATE knotting while the strings are still on bobbins. I dont know how people do it.

I prefer to cut stings and weave in new ones when they get too short also.I feel like keeping the leading strings on bobbins really slows you down and can be a pain to untangle when they inevitably get into one big knot haha. You could use trial and error and see what feels best for you though 🙂 |

@mrs_jordan @dins0r i’ve tried it both ways now, i was working on one with bobbins and have had to stop because i ran out of a colour. so i’ve started a different one until i can get more thread, this one without bobbins and it’s so much better! it’s going way faster and it’s much easier! thank you so much for the responses, they were super helpful!!

I recommend to also try the flipped knot from this tutorial https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/153_advanced-knots-tutorial/It could be useful no matter if you are working with your leading strings on bobbins or not. |
