Hi everyone! I semi-new to making bracelets but I have had this issue happen two ish times now. I've been knotting a normal candy stripe and the string snapped right off. It happened a second time for a chevron one where it partially snapped but I was able to salvage it. Am I pulling too strong? I've been working on my tension while knotting. Or maybe it is the quality of string I'm using? Any advice or tips would be amazing. Thanks y'all!! ^_^

Make sure the strings don't rub against each other for a long distance while knotting. So don't do the knot halves at the end of the string and then pull them up, but do them close where you want them to be.

where abouts is the string snapping? is it close to the bracelet, like where the knots are or is it further down? halokiwi is right it could definitely be friction if you’re knotting the string low down, especially if the string is snapping lower down. if the string is snapping right up at the knots you could be pulling it too hard, i would try not pulling with as much force, you don’t need to pull hard to make the knots tight. try pulling the knots firm up close to where

I think it was probably a combo of the two issues. Thanks y’all for the help!! ❤️

Idk if it was mash’s knots, Alex innovations, or some else, but I know some people use crochet thread.
