When I make alpha bracelets/bookmarks, they always get wider when there are more color switches and I don’t know how to avoid this…🙁Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happening? |

Hi!I would recommend using the flat alpha technique if you aren't already. What you're experiencing is actually really common. Here are some solution ideas below: - when switching colors be sure to use the same type/thickness of string as the rest of the bracelet. Adding in slightly thicker strings can widen your bracelet. - adjust any wonky part of the bracelet after you are finished. Cut the strings from the back to release the tension. Pull the sides until you have the desired shape. See this video: https://youtu.be/tF_-Ir6ZRk8 Hope this helps, Macrame Maven |

Make sure to use all the same brand embroidery floss. For normals it does not matter as much, but for alphas you want to make sure all the knots are the same size! Your base strings can be a different brand, but make sure they are all the same as well!

This happens to me too. Every time. I’m a newbie. I think I’ve figured out that I knit really tight at the beginning when using just one color. I’m making it a point to not do that and see if my next one is better.
