I have a question for the community, what’s your preferred way to tie off a bracelet ? i know of the loop with braids and the adjustable ends with squared knots.I usually do the adjustable end, but as i’ve been doing more and more gifts i’m wondering what people prefer ! |

I don't really have a preference for making or not making a loop. I think for bracelets with lots of strings, it makes sense to have a loop on one side and two ties on the other side so the ties don't get as thick. But I do have a preference for twisted ties over braided ties. |

personally i prefer a loop with twisted ties, i used to make the square knot adjustable thingy and i found that i had to keep tightening it throughout the day when wearing it, whereas the loop and twisted ties i just tie the knot and it stays that way until i untie it 🙂 and i agree about the twisted tues over braided ties, i find they’re less likely to fray and also just prefer the look. but everyone has different opinions, which is why there’s so many different ways to start and end a bracelet! so i think the people you’re making gifts for will like whatever you make them 🙂

i just recently started making the loop but all your comments make sense ! i also agree loops are a lot better when you have a lot of strings. I never tried the twisted ties, i will definitely try it ! 🙂

I use almost exclusively teardrop loop starts and braided ties. I do 4-strand braids when possible--they're very tight, don't fray, and even if the knot at the end comes loose they'll hold their shape way better than twisted ties or regular 3-strand braids.
