I started making alphas. And I’m not sure how tight to tie my knots. I think I’m tying them too tight, since the bracelet seems, squished? I don’t know how to not knot that tight. Looking for advice on how to avoid this 🙁 it’s making me sad. They are so easy to make, but they don’t look the best …

In alphas it's generally recommended that you don't knot very tight, but rather loose. It is a common issue that the pattern appears stretched. You could try using thicker base strings or pushing up the rows after knotting them. |

The progression of alpha photos on your profile look better and better. Especially your most recent post #571461🥰 I love Hocus Pocus. I don't think your patterns look squished at all. Can you reference an example in the photos you have uploaded?

Thank you! That was actually over a year ago. I just started back up with bracelets! Im pretty sure it’s my knot tension that made this bracelet look so wonky. Thank you!! 🙂

Ok, I see. Well with continued practice I'm sure it will come back to you. Good luck.

@mari2007 a pattern with just two colours and up to ten base strings is good.
