HelloI'm having some problems with the lenght of my alphas bracelets. I'm new on making bracelets so actually I did one bracelet with square knots and 3 alphas (25211 and 17341). I just watched thousand of videos about making alphas, I learned about techniques (straight edges, color switch, shape ends, loops, etc...) then I decided that I was ready to do an alpha and started with 25211 because I loved the pattern. My base strings had like 200 cm because I would make a loop then actually each string had 100 cm and the bracelet was huge. Seriously. My knot tension is ok I guess, the rows are straight, I use a ruler, my base strings doesn't appear so yeah I think it's ok. The second time I decided to do an easier pattern and it was 17341, base strings were 100cm (50 cm), because of the loop and it was huge then I decided to make my base strings 66 cm (33 cm) and the bracelet was the same lenght as before, basically 23cm without the braids and I don't get it. I don't know how to say what type of thread I use but it's fluffy and usually the bracelet has some fur. I just don't know what to do anymore, I'm actually super frustrated and sad and I'd appreciate any help. Thank you. |

hm. i might be the thread. it sounds like a yarn of some sort with the fluffiness and fuzziness that you sound like you’re describing. id suggest getting embroidery floss or craft thread and seeing if that changes anything. especially since you don’t know how to say what type of thread you’re using, im guessing that its not a embroidery floss or craft cord. tag me if you have any more questions, i’d be happy to answer!

@Rowsitt Hey, thank you for the answer. I just bought embroidery floss and some type of cord thread (they basically do the same size of knot) and it worked!! I'm so happy haha, thank you so much for the help 🙂
